Advocating for intersex rights in Uganda.

At Freedom Hive Uganda, we are proud to recognize the tireless efforts of Human rights defenders who have been championing intersex rights in Uganda. Intersex individuals, born with sex characteristics that don’t fit typical binary notions of male or female, often face stigma, discrimination, and violence. Our team has been working diligently to challenge harmful societal norms and promote inclusivity. Leading the Charge, our activists including the renowned advocate Nora Kobusingye (@KobusingyeNora), have been at the forefront of this campaign. Through online advocacy and education, they have helped raise awareness about intersex issues and pushed for policy changes to protect intersex rights.

Breaking Barriers. Our campaign efforts have focused on addressing key challenges faced by intersex individuals, including: Ending unnecessary medical interventions on intersex children. Ensuring access to education, employment, and healthcare. Promoting legal recognition and protection. Combating harmful stereotypes and stigma.

Join the Movement. We invite you to join us in supporting intersex rights and celebrating diversity in all its forms. Follow FHU on Twitter (@Freedomhive_ug) for updates on our advocacy work and ways to get involved. Together, we can create a more inclusive and just society for all.
